953 - Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Voice Advisory Groups

This contract relates to the creation, facilitation and successful delivery of Youth Independent Advisory Groups (YIAGs), encouraging and engaging representation from all youth communities across Wiltshire and Swindon, with a focus on 11-25-year-olds.

The Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Commission/ Independent Advisory Group will enable young people to influence decisions about policing and crime prevention in Wiltshire and Swindon in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner and Wiltshire.

To support youth diversion, crime reduction and reduction in victimisation and vulnerability in young people, it is important to understand the drivers of crime and vulnerability in local communities as well as considering the determinants of crime.

The public health approach to policing considers these factors and therefore it is important to listen and understand the impact crime has on young people within local communities.

The Service Provider will look to ensure that there is equitable representation of youth voices from communities across Wiltshire and Swindon in order to obtain views from a range of communities, in particular those underserved or marginalised communities that do not actively participate in providing their views in respect of local policing in Wiltshire and Swindon.
