Business Energy and Industrial Strategy
Heat Networks Financial Services Initiative ("Initiative")
The aim of the Initiative is to establish a competitively procured arrangement that will facilitate funding to Heat Network projects and provide projects with access to an investor base with the experience and appetite to bring projects to fruition.
The Initiative aims to support public sector and other organisations with a route to accessing investment for Heat Network projects, increasing external investment and helping to create a self-sustaining heat network market.
BEIS would expect the Initiative to be utilised by Potential Providers to provide funding and ancillary services to support the delivery of Heat Network projects.
In addition, the Initiative will be capable of both securing demonstrable value for money investment and funding expertise to Heat Network projects.
BEIS is currently in the process of finalising its procurement strategy and therefore is issuing a prior information notice in order to gauge the views of Potential Providers in respect of the scope of services to be included within this procurement process.
We are publishing a list of potential services for comment in order to help us finalise the services in Lot 1 and Lot 2 of this procurement exercise.
We would be grateful for comments on two specific questions as detailed in Annex A to this notice.
Please send your comments to the BEIS Heat Networks Team at HNFF.ProcurementQuestions@beis.gov.uk by 5pm on 14 February 2020.
