The brief

Rochdale Adult Care, NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and partners are committed to improve the community provision for People and families facing Dementia.

At the same time, we have been reviewing some of the demographic changes for clients with Learning Disabilities as they grow older and live longer taking into account the feedback from families of people with dementia.

As a result, we are delighted to offer the market an exciting opportunity to work with us on a holistic service for people with Dementia and their carers and also a residential offer for people with Learning Disabilities who are living longer lives.

Rochdale Adult Care and the CCG are keen to see proposals which utilise creative approaches in service delivery and development.

Of particular interest to us are offers which align to National Guidance and Strategies for Dementia and support the vision for making Greater Manchester the best place in the world for Dementia Care.

Springhill Resource Centre is a Council owned building which provides an excellent opportunity for refurbishment.

The building is large, light and spacious and mainly on one level.

It benefits from attractive outdoor space, parking facilities, good access and is in a desirable location, with older person?s population within the immediate vicinity.

The Council and the CCG have had significant refurbishment investment approved, which aims to utilise best practice in Dementia design wherever possible.

With a significant amount of investment approved for refurbishment of the building by the Council and CCG , the building offers opportunity for innovative and high quality service provision within this new service model In summary, the following services are being tendered :- ?

LD residential offer ?

Short Term residential respite offer for people with dementia including early onset dementia ?

Building Based Day support service for people with dementia including people in the residential units ?

Community Based Day support offer for people in the community with dementia ?

Community café which will be a hub for providing meaningful activity ?

Carers space where carers could get together in a self-help format to provide peer support, socialising and networking opportunities but also receive information and advice, training and support as required.
