The contracting authorities consist of two acute hospitals in Somerset (Musgrove Park Hospital which is part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) together with Mental Health and Community Hospitals (Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) and the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group.
The contracts from the Framework Agreement will provide urgent and routine transfers of patients requiring qualified ambulance crews, who are able to provide care to patients who may require monitoring, medical intervention or control & restraint during their journey.
The above organisations are part of a larger consortium of Trusts who have engaged the Penninsula Purchasing and supply Alliance (PPSA) to tender for a longer term (up to 5 years) contract.
The existing contract expired on 31 December 2015 and ‘ad hoc’ contracting arrangements have been in place within the individual organisations.
The intention of this Framework Agreement to provide compliant contracts whilst the tendering is undertaken by the PPSA.
