Provision of Low Socio Economic Group Measurement
Sport England is a public body and invests up to £300 million National Lottery and government money each year in projects and programmes that help people get active and play sport.
It wants everyone in England, regardless of age, background, or level of ability, to feel able to engage in sport and physical activity.
That's why a lot of its work is specifically focused on helping people who do no, or very little, physical activity and groups who are typically less active - like women, disabled people and people on lower incomes.
Greater engagement in sport and physical activity will increase levels of: physical wellbeing; mental wellbeing; individual development; social and community development; and economic development.
Sport England as the contracting authority is tendering for the supply of surveying skills in order to measure use of particular leisure facilities by people from lower socio-economic groups.
Sport England is seeking through this tendering process to award a contract with a suitably capable Contractor to provide these Services for a term of 10 months.
The anticipated contract value is £30,000 (exc.
VAT) over the contract period.
The service requirement includes the supplier to undertake participant surveys using a specific questionnaire at 3 leisure facilities in receipt of Sport England Strategic Facilities Fund projects.
Two surveys must be completed at each site - the first survey must be completed within the first 10 days of opening to understand the baseline activity levels of users.
The survey is then repeated with a proportion of the same participants 3 months later to understand how the facility has impacted their activity levels over a period of time.
The target number of survey returns will vary according to each site but will survey every 4th user approximately.
