The brief

The works involve the refurbishment of 503 Worle Parkway, Worle to form an interview facility for children and vulnerable adults.

The existing two storey building was previously used as an office with associated WC and welfare facilities on each floor.

The property is unoccupied and located ‘mid terrace’ of a building, predominantly used as commercial offices.

Since being acquired by Avon and Somerset Constabulary, the building has been left untouched with no enabling works being carried out.

A refurbishment and demolition survey has been undertaken which has identified that there are no ACM’s present within the building.

Internally the floor plans are to be remodelled to three interview suites with an office, welfare facilities and ancillary rooms.

Minor structural alterations will be required to form the proposed layout.

The interview rooms and suites are designed to specific acoustic criteria with sound reducing walls, floors and doors.

New finishes are to be provided to all areas.

The project includes all new mechanical and electrical installations, including a full re-wire, new lighting, small power, distribution boards, data cabling, audio visual, fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control, new boilers, controls, pipework, ventilation systems and associated ductwork.

Minor repair works will be undertaken externally to make good defects identified with the building survey undertaken.
