Science DMZ - Data Transfer Nodes
This sits in the lower-middle of the IT Services band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 36,449 valued IT Services tenders in our corpus.
UKAEA are seeking to deploy a science DMZ (https://fasterdata.es.net/science-dmz/) to allow high data rates between UKAEA sites and to and from global HPC systems.
This will involve the daily transfer of hundreds of Terabytes of data in support of our mission to support the development of commercial fusion power for a low carbon future.
UKAEA already has provision through JISC for a burst speed of up to 200Gbps.
To ensure we have the necessary hardware to be able to transmit data at a sufficient rate, we are looking to purchase up to 4 Data Transfer Nodes (DTNs) capable of saturating 100GbE network links per node.
