Developing Service Specifications for prisons within Cumbria and NE Prisons
NHS England wishes to commission an innovative project to develop healthcare service specifications according to prison ‘type’ for the cluster of prisons across Cumbria and the North East.
The existing specifications are currently focused on services and are mostly generic to all of our prisons.
They are no longer considered satisfactory in delivering innovative patient focused services for the diverse range of prison populations across the North East.
Some work has progressed in developing national service specifications and Health and Justice Commissioners will continue to work alongside national colleagues to mutually support the development of national specifications.
