NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board
NHS South Yorkshire ICB Doncaster place - Termination of Pregnancy Service
This sits in the upper-middle of the Health & Social Care band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 32,734 valued Health & Social Care tenders in our corpus.
The overarching aim of the Service is to ensure that those all women that wish to have a termination can access the service and receive high quality, impartial support and advice, regardless of age, ethnicity, language, disability and religious or personal circumstances.
Patients should expect services to be provided as close to home as they would be when accessing other pregnancy services such as for miscarriage or obstetric care.
The principle should be that core abortion services (early medical abortion and surgical abortion up to 14 weeks gestation) are managed across the same population footprint that is served by the nearest NHS Trust offering gynaecology care, with more complex care (e.g. later gestations or co-morbidities) being delivered by regional or, in the most complex cases, national centres.
All procedures associated with this contract should follow the principles set out by NHSE in the national tariff payment system, using the unit prices published in the national tariff workbook where applicable (see document 4 Tariff book).
Activity volumes (see document 5 Activity Information) provided are indicative and it is anticipated that all activity will be covered by National tariff pricing; any activity that is deemed to be outside of National tariff pricing will need a discussion between the Provider and Commissioner to agree how this is recorded and priced The Contract will be for a term of five years with the opportunity to extend for a further two years subject to mutual agreement between the successful Bidder and the Authority.
The maximum term of Contract is consequently seven years
