The brief

Medway Council is looking to procure two organisations that work in street-based or supported accommodation settings to recruit part-time outreach coordinators that will deliver assertive outreach with peer mentors and support the existing treatment service outreach team.

The outreach coordinators will support access to treatment for those who misuse drugs, and experience severe and multiple disadvantages (SMD), and recruit peer mentors who have lived and living experience within their networks.

This project will feed into other projects across Medway, to reduce drug-related deaths, improve pathways between services, and increase the number of people with SMD accessing harm reduction interventions and treatment services.

The funding for this project has come from the Public Health England Universal grant for 'Additional drug treatment crime and harm reduction funding'.

The Contract is anticipated to commence on 1st August 2021 and will continue for a period of 10months, unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.
