The brief

The Authority wishes to award grants the expansion and creation of high quality wraparound (8am - 6pm) childcare to meet parental demand that will arise from the National Wraparound Childcare programme. ("Grant Agreement").

Programme funding should be used to fund new wraparound places and expanded wraparound provision, that will create additional places, either to meet current demand or guarantee supply to build future demand.

Childcare provision funded from this grant must meet the definition of wraparound childcare, i.e., be available directly before and after the school day, from 8am to 6pm during school term time /for primary school-age children.

It may be run on a school site or at another setting.

It must not require parents to pick their children up from school and drop them off at another location.

Applications are also open to those providers who don't offer provision until 6pm and want to extend their hours; and those providers/schools that wish to provide provision where provision is not available on or around the school site.
