The brief

Newark and Sherwood District Council is seeking to procure the services of an organization to undertake the redevelopment of the current temporary accommodation scheme at Seven Hills in Newark.

The works involve demolition of the existing unit, provision of new accommodation comprising;- 10 Nr, 1 bed flats @ 30 m2, 10 Nr, 2 bed flats @ 40 m2 or 10 Nr 1 bed flats that can be extended to provide additional bedrooms or living space / storage space that is flexible to the demands of the future users of the site.

A communal building of circa 250 m2, providing laundry and other support service.

Bulk storage provision of circa 100 m2, External works, comprising car parking, hard and soft landscaping, child and youth activities equipment, drainage and external services There is a desire within the Council to deliver this scheme using modern methods of construction.

The procurement will be carried out by way of a 2 stage process, stage 1 will be by a selection process following the review and scoring of submitted Selection Questionnaires from interested bidders.

Bidders passing stage 1 of the process will be invited to submit a tender for the project which will be evaluated and awarded based on 60% price and 40% quality.

Interested bidders should submit there completed Selection Questionnaire document by 12:00midday on the 10th December 2020.

Following the review of the submitted Selection Questionnaires, the selected successful bidders will be invited to submit a tender on the week commencing 22nd January 2021.

The tender period will close on the 19th March 2021 and we estimate that the contract award notice will be published on the 14th April 2021.

The contract period will commence then for a period of 12 months.

Outline planning permission will be obtained by the District Council during the tender period in preparation for the full planning permission to be obtained by the chosen bidder.
