The brief

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is embarking on an exciting programme to deliver its five-year strategy for adult social care and has published an ambitious Day Opportunities Strategy to improve the experience for adults accessing day opportunities as part of the Council's preventative approach.

This is focused on supporting people to maintain and develop life skills, offering opportunities to socialise and providing respite for carers.

Day opportunities also form part of the long-term care support for people with complex needs, providing a safe space and stimulating activities as a core element of care and support arrangements.

The aim of the Flexible Contract Arrangements is to have a choice of provision to meet a range of needs, including specialist support for particular care needs and culturally appropriate provision.

It is the intention that all future day opportunities placements will be made using this contracting vehicle.
