Animal and Plant Health Agency
Joint PhD Studentship Between APHA and Imperial College Of Science, Technology & Medicine for "Characterising impact of the nutritional landscape on mosquito immunity, behaviour & disease transmission"
This sits in the lower-middle of the Research & Development band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
This joint PhD project, with a One Health focus, looks to fill critical gaps in our knowledge of how the nutritional landscape impacts mosquito immunity, behaviour, and by extension, disease transmission risk.
The aim of this research is to conduct controlled studies to determine the direct effect of phytochemicals on pathogens in vitro and in vivo, the effect of nectar feeding on mosquito immunity, vector competence and vectorial capacity.
