South Cambridgeshire District Council are seeking a competent Building Contractor for a development of fifteen houses on a brown field site in the village of Foxton, Cambridgeshire.
This is a very important scheme for the Local Authority to meet their rural housing need and there will be a great deal of interest in it by their housing partners, stakeholders and the local community.
It is essential that the properties meet their required standards and quality and are constructed in time and within budget.
The estimated Contract Sum for this development is approximately £1,675,000.00.
The scheme is to be tendered competitively as a traditional scheme, based on full working drawings and specifications with the contract sum being converted into an Agreed Maximum Price and the project awarded on a PPC 2000 form of contract.
All tenders are advised that the scheme must be priced based on the products and materials specified and it should be noted that this is NOT a Design and Build Contract.
South Cambridgeshire District Council will be evaluating all tenders on both price and quality based on a 70%/30% split.
All tenderers will be required to complete a Tender Quality Submission which will assess experience of; constructing in rural locations, building affordable housing, carrying out partnered schemes under a PPC 2000 form of contract and providing a prompt and efficient snagging & defects procedure for tenanted properties in line with the prescribed response times.
South Cambridgeshire District Council is expecting works to commence on site on the 25th January 2016 with sectional completion of the works from the 11th November 2016 – 9th December 2016.
The site has already been purchased, full planning permission obtained and the working drawings completed.
