Islington Council invites suitable expressions of interest from suppliers for the delivery of Talking Therapy for people who have suffered bereavement, Talking Therapy for people within Black, Minority Ethnics and Refugee (BMER) communities and Talking Therapy for people who have suffered child sexual abuse and/or domestic violence.
The requirement The service will form part of the existing pathway for counselling and psychological therapy services in Islington, complementing existing iCope provision.
People accessing the counselling and psychological therapy services should be facilitated to access iCope services should this be the most appropriate treatment route, and vice versa.
There are three elements to the service: ?
To provide support to adult s who have suffered an bereavement, by the provision of confidential, long-term bereavement counselling. ?
To provide High-intensity, time-limited psychological therapies to meet the more complex needs of some BMER groups, particularly those from refugee communities who have experienced significant trauma. ?
To provide group and individual therapy for people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and/or significant domestic violence.
The service will be commissioned under a Lead Provider model that will either provide and /or subcontract the required elements, with emphasis on waiting list and referral management, treatment length, and data quality.
A lead provider is a model of contracting where a single provider assumes responsibility (through a contract) for delivering a pathway of services for a commissioner.
The lead provider will therefore either provide and/or sub-contract with other providers to ensure the delivery of all the required elements of the service.
The service is expected to provide a stepped care model creating referral links with Islington?s existing low intensity and high-intensity IAPT (iCope) services and peer support programmes.
