Provision of Taxi Services to County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

Market Engagement Notice: County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust currently provide a sustainable taxi and courier service for the conveyance of patients including wheelchair users and children who are eligible for hospital transport, together with staff, and light goods for both routine and ad hoc requirements.

The services required are to provide a 24 hour service every day during the contract period (Sundays and Bank Holidays included) and the service provided must be promptly executed.

Taxis are booked for essential Trust business only and some bookings shall involve work which is essential to the wellbeing and lives of the patients.

We are approaching the market prior to making a decision on the route to market and undertaking an options appraisal so we can gain knowledge, information and a better understanding of the market which will inform and feed into the future provision of this service.
