The Trust is looking to procure an ad-hoc courier service to provide support to its clinics.
Currently there is an in-house distribution service which operates a round robin sample collection service in the mornings, and an internal post service.
However outside of these services, the Trust has a requirement for the transportation of Samples and general packages on a same and next day delivery basis.
The Trust is seeking to procure a courier service across three lots of Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework RM1006 - Courier Services to provide a single awarded supplier for Trust requirements against each of the framework lots: · Lot 1 - Same Day delivery of general packages · Lot 2 - Next Day delivery of general packages · Lot 4 - Delivery of Dangerous/Hazardous Goods For absolute clarity, one supplier from each framework lot will be awarded, a maximum total of three (3) suppliers. · Multiple lot bids will only be considered if the Bidder has been awarded to all lots there bid covers by CCS. · Where a Multiple Lot bid is submitted, any discounts based on award of multiple lots must be clearly stated in the Bidders commercial response. · The service provision will be on an ad-hoc basis and no guaranteed volumes will apply.
The Successful Contractor will be required to provide a service which will (as a minimum):- · Ensure all packages are collected from the booked locations on time. · Ensure that all packages are tracked form collection to delivery. · That proof of delivery is available for all packages transported. · Ensure all packages are transported in line with the relevant legislation. · Support the Trust in an efficient, effective, responsive and flexible manner; · All drivers provided will hold a current and valid driving license. · With their vehicles having undergone and passed stringent tests for vehicle roadworthiness.
It should be noted that the above list is not exhaustive and may change during the contract period (including any extensions taken).
The contract will be for an initial period of twelve (12) months with the option to extend for up to a further twelve (12) months (subject to satisfactory performance).
