The brief

The Positive Behavioural Support service will work with identified young people, their parents / carers and other professionals that deliver support to the young person.

The PBS service will identify a suitable individual Behaviour Support plan for each young person.

The PBS service will deliver intensive support to the parents / carers and other professionals to implement the behaviour support model required for that young person, working in the variety of settings that the young person is in to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management across those settings and the relevant family members / professionals.

The key aims of this proposed Positive Behavioural Support Service (PBS) are as follows: • To improve outcomes for children within the Bradford District who have learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge • To improve the wellbeing of the parents / carers and families of children who have learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge • To make savings on the amount that the Council is currently paying for full time residential care placements It is expected that this service will be funded through a Social Investment model with payment being made for outcomes successfully achieved.
