The brief

This is a primarily desk-based study that will summarise existing data for whelk, crab and lobster fisheries to highlight the gaps that exist.

Several projects are already completed or underway across the UK that look at innovative methods for fishery dependent data collection (e.g.

Bangor University led cameras on crustacean boats, CEFAS led project for fishers to take photo of crab or lobsters).

This report will summarise and collate information on all these existing innovations.
