Early Market Engagement - International Travel Training
IMPORTANT - Please Note that this is Early Market Engagement and not a call for competition or formal tender procedure.
The Met Office wishes to conduct this early market engagement to assist with our future planning on the delivery of International Travel Training.
Travel is essential to the Met Office as it allows us as a business to build and maintain strong relationships with our customers, stakeholders and collaboration partners.
Staff are required to travel to a variety of locations covering every continent.
In order for our staff to be prepared before they travel and protected whilst they are travelling.
The Met Office requires an International Travel Training programme.
Whilst not an exhaustive list the Met Office require the solution to include the following: - 1.
An e-learning module (mandatory training for all Met Office staff travelling internationally); 2.
A 1-day training workshop providing staff who are travelling to moderate risk destinations with a range of knowledge and skills appropriate to more complex and challenging environments building on the basics covered in the e-learning module; 3.
A 2-day training course for staff who are required to travel to high risk destinations; the content will focus on building knowledge and raising awareness of challenges they may encounter, for example weapons awareness, recognising hostile surveillance and dealing with a hijack/kidnap situation.
It would also consist of a scenario training session which would be run off site. - This course will compliment any previous training provided; 4.
Female Traveller Training - This would be a one-day workshop designed for female staff travelling abroad; again this will complement the course content previously provided to ensure continuity - but will look to address female specific negative situations including cultural beliefs to support their health, safety and wellbeing whilst travelling abroad; 5.
A 1- day training workshop - specifically designed for Managers who may not travel themselves, but who have staff that do and require further knowledge regarding the risks their staff face and what their key responsibilities are pre, during and post staff travel;
