STAFFORDSHIRE AND LANCASHIRE COMMISSIONING SUPPORT UNIT
Integrated Community Services in West Lancashire
NHS West Lancashire CCG has been reviewing commissioning options for Integrated Community Services and is planning for an imminent procurement exercise: In July 2015, West Lancashire CCG’s GP Membership and Governing Body (Board) made the decision to tender adult community services.
This decision was made considering a variety of factors, including legal guidance with regard to contract duration and roll-over periods, amongst other things.
As part of the imminent procurement process, the CCG held a bidder event at the end of September 2015.
The purpose of this event was to test the market and see if there are interested parties / organisations who may want to procure community services.
It was also an opportunity for the CCG to describe not only its vision for the future of community services, but to stress how important the ‘jigsaw pieces’ are that make up the whole picture; those ‘jigsaw pieces’ being partner agencies and organisations who play a fundamental role in mobilising communities around health, both in terms of community services and wider.
The scope of the procurement has now been extended to include Out of Hours, and Urgent Care services as well as the original adult community services.
As promised, as part of the procurement journey West Lancashire CCG are continuing to engage with West Lancashire’s local communities (and wider) and are planning to hold another stakeholder engagement event on Wednesday 9th December at the Lancashire Manor Hotel Skelmersdale WN8 9QD from 1pm until 5pm.
It is hoped that this event will provide the opportunity for the ‘jigsaw pieces’ to engage in discussions with potential bidders and for them to demonstrate the role that they play and the impact which they have on the local community of West Lancashire.
Please confirm your attendance at the earliest opportunity, stating any dietary, access, auditory and / or visual requirements to: michelle.sage@westlancashireccg.nhs.uk
