The brief

The works are the construction of a mine water treatment scheme at Nent Haggs.

The works include • The provision of a site compound for the duration of the works and the reinstatement of the site compound site following completion of the works, • The construction of a capture structure to capture the raw mine water at source (the capture point), • The design of a rising main to transfer the mine water from the pumping station to the treatment site (the transfer route), • The construction of gravity pipework and rising mains to transfer the raw mine water from the capture point to site 4 (the treatment site), • The construction of a pumping station on site 38 (the pumping station site), • The earthworks to form the finished levels at the treatment site, • The construction of a hydrogen peroxide dosing system at the treatment site, • The construction of flow control and distribution pipework at the treatment site, • The construction of the outfalls for the treated mine water to the River Nent, • The implementation of a landscape scheme, • The design and implementation of a scheme to reduce surface water flooding in Nentsbury and • The commissioning of the treatment scheme.

The Coal Authority intends to invite up to seven parties to tender for the contract.

The shortlist of contractors will be selected following the evaluation of responses to the PQQ.

Any party submitting a PQQ must accept the Coal Authority's terms & conditions.

The Coal Authority will reject any PQQ which is not completed fully or which it deems is not compliant.
