Mezzanine Floors

Culham Science Centre is a 180 acre site in Oxfordshire, which is home to a large number of individual buildings occupied by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) which is the UK’s leading centre for Fusion research and other commercial companies to whom accommodation is leased.

The requirement is to design, manufacture, install and commission a two storey mezzanine floor in the South end of the main hall situated in the UKAEA RACE Building (B1).

The contractor is required to design and install the mezzanine in accordance with all building regulations and approvals and provide the requisite documentary evidence that the installation complies with these regulations.

The first floor mezzanine will consist of office space to accommodate up to 16 people configured as four blocks of four desks, initially in an open plan area but with the flexibility of re-configuring into four separate offices if required.

There will also be a meeting room located on the East side of the mezzanine floor.

The office accommodation needs to conform to building regulations.

The second floor will be a storage facility.
