The brief

Purpose of the Tender: - To procure external Design Consultancy to enable us to create a 'blueprint'/ art of the possible office plan design which is generic and can be overlain and applied to a range of DCC office sites. - To bring the blueprint designs to life, we will ask the space planning design consultants to apply their design to 3 real DCC estate locations. - The consultants would be required to coordinate and lead stakeholder engagement sessions with key individuals to inform the theoretical design, develop principles for how office space should be used, and test the design features and concepts. - There is an agreed ambition to see our existing estate have more flexible, agile workspaces.

HWW Staff survey which detailed that out of 2255 respondents, 1239 (55%) said they would like to work primarily at home, 819 (36%) split work and home, 152 (7%) primarily in a building and 45 (2%) said other.

There was concensus among SLTs consulted that the workforce will work differently in the future and our buildings need to adapt to reflect this.

This design work would provide an opportunity to visualise and plan what the future office space could look like for teams; creating more collaborative and project-based space to support a more flexible, collaborative and agile workforce.
