Supply & Implementation of a Museum Collection Management System
This sits in the lower-middle of the Software & IT Systems band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 30,286 valued Software & IT Systems tenders in our corpus.
The aim of this tender process is to create an integrated collections management solution with a public interface incorporating the Fine and Decorative Art Collections and the Archive and Special Collections held at Royal Holloway & Bedford New College.
The Fine and Decorative Arts Collection currently comprises about 900 as yet un catalogued paintings, works on paper, sculptures and furniture.
The Archives and Special Collections are comprised of institutional records and special collections which are mainly theatre related.
The collections are mixed media and include paper, photographs, framed items, objects and digital records.
They span approximately 700 linear metres of shelving and much of the material is already catalogued with nearly 22,000 catalogue records and 450 accessions records on our existing cataloguing system.
We are aiming to create an integrated solution which will enable us to manage all information and digital objects relating to these collections and provide a public web interface to them.
