The brief

Introduction - This is a formal request for quotation with information, instructions and guidance following consideration of which, the proposal submission should be completed and returned by all Suppliers who wish to quote for the contract.

Note, throughout the Request for Quotation (RFQ) documentation the University of Nottingham will be referred to as the UoN.

Synopsis & Brief - The Power Electronics, Control and Machines Group at the University of Nottingham UK, hereafter referred to as 'PEMC', is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for transport electrification, developing and delivering hairpin-stators for high performance e-motors to OEMs and Tier1s in the automotive/aerospace industries.

The research group are looking to purchase one 3 axis CNC vertical milling machine, the machine will be used to produce complex components which make up parts of our electrical motor/generator assemblies.

The production of potentially complex parts with innovative designs and tolerance constraints in delivery of critical research projects the PEMC group continues to grow, develop, and secure additional funding and development whilst maintaining a world class reputation in the area.

Objectives - To secure value for money goods and services for the UoN Estimated Value - The estimated value is between £90,000- £112,000 (without VAT) Contract/Framework duration - The Contract will be established for an initial provision of equipment, essential training and a minimum 12-month warranty period with additional three years for technical support and maintenance services on an ongoing basis.

The University of Nottingham ("the University") is not a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended) and its procurement activities are not subject to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
