The aim of this project is to assist the EHRC promote best practice in equality to the City Deal Partnerships and Growth Partnerships.
The EHRC has already secured a commitment from the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs and Fair Work that annual grant letters from the Scottish Government to City Deal projects will include a requirement to work with the EHRC to advance equality of opportunity.
In practical terms this means supporting lead local authorities to identify positive and negative equality impacts in their planning and to identify opportunities to advance equality of opportunity as defined by Section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 General Duty.
