Bedford College has secured detailed planning consent for the construction of a three storey Advanced Engineering Centre.
The building will be located at the heart of the busy Cauldwell Street campus.

The College are seeking a contractor who has very recent experience of working on a very tight; fully operational FE/HE education site.

A wide range of courses are offered by the college and the site must remain fully operational at all times during the works.
The contractor will be mandated to register the project under the CC Scheme and to achieve a score of at least 38 out of 50.
In evaluating the PQQ's; emphasis will be placed on evaluating the nature; scope and number of apprenticeships that are directly attributable to awarding the contract to a particular contractor and their supply chain.
SEMLEP as a requirement of their grant assistance will require the college to provide evidence of the number of jobs and apprenticeships that are created as a direct result of this investment.
The college will expect the contractor to provide site visits and access to the technical information for the curriculum teaching areas.
