The brief

The Argory Estate, County Armagh, Northern Ireland - a 126-hectare historic property with significant areas of ancient and long-established woodland.

The National Trust invites tenders for woodland restoration works, focusing on the removal and control of invasive species such as rhododendron ponticum and cherry laurel across designated woodland compartments.

The contract includes: • Initial clearance and disposal of invasive plants • Follow-up treatments in 2027 and 2028 • Compliance with UK Forestry Standards and best practice guidelines The Argory's woodlands are a rare and valuable ecological and cultural resource.

Mature ancient semi-natural broadleaf woodland covers less than 0.08% of Northern Ireland's land area.
