The brief

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly (CIOS) Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) will be undertaking a SAR in relation to serious abuse and neglect that happened to the residents of a care home.

The review will focus on the regulated care and support that the adults received from the commissioned provider while resident at a local Care/Nursing home.

The review will also need to consider the wider multiagency approaches of the local authority, police, care quality commission, health and community based services, that supported these individuals and consider how agencies collectively responded to support them in these circumstances.

The author will take a thematic, systems findings approach to the review and to identifying the learning when making recommendations.

It will wherever possible seek to consider the lived experiences of these individuals and to engage with family members and carers to ensure that their voice is heard.
