LBN - Stop Smoking Service
This sits in the lower-middle of the Health & Social Care band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 32,734 valued Health & Social Care tenders in our corpus.
LBN is planning to implement the Specialist Stop Smoking service in response to learnings from the Covid response.
Newham has higher rates of smoking-related illness compared to the London average.
There are higher mortality rates from COVID-19 among people with smoking-related illnesses (e.g.
COPD and cardiovascular disease).
There is, therefore, a clear need to enhance the Council's stop smoking offer as soon as possible for the remainder of 20-21 and all of 2021-22.
This is the purpose of this procurement.
Longer-term, from 2022 onwards, the council intends to implement an Integrated Health & Wellbeing service that may include Stop Smoking services.
These plans were put on hold due to COVID and will be re-activated soon.
The Council would like the contract to commence in November 2020 and is considering a one year contract, with the option to extend for one further year.
This is a notice of contract award.
