The brief

Red Cross has a requirement for a comprehensive national approach to the acquisition of secure document and data destruction services.

There is currently no national arrangement in place for these services; however there are a number of small to medium local arrangements that are in place throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.

These services have been acquired on a transactional basis and as such do not provide the opportunity to achieve best value through an aggregation of the overall spend / demand which will achieve economies of scale and a streamlining of the purchasing / ordering process.

Red Cross now seeks to remove fragmentation in its coordination to document and data disposal, by delivering a solution that is informed by our end user requirements and takes advantages of market innovation.

The successful Supplier shall evidence best value and must also work in partnership with Red Cross to help realise tangible savings that can be realigned to frontline services and assist the Red Cross in achieving its humanitarian objectives of refusing to ignore people in crisis.
