“My Best Life” Invitation to Tender for Social Prescribing Liaison Service for Barnsley Procurement Event for Potential Providers 9.15am – 12 noon 13 July 2016 Shaw Suite, Shaw Lane Rugby Club, Barnsley, Barnsley, S70 6HZ, UK Social prescribing is a mechanism for linking patients with non-medical sources of support within the community.
It provides health care professionals with a non-medical referral option that can operate alongside existing treatments to improve health and wellbeing and enable a more holistic approach.
It recognises the importance of psychosocial, environmental and economic factors in health and wellbeing and health inequalities.
NHS Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group will be issuing an invitation for tenders for a new Social Prescribing service on the 11th July 2016.
Tender documents will be available via https://www.nhssourcing.co.uk/web/login.html The new service will provide a borough wide liaison service to support patients and social care clients to access non-medical sources of support in the community and be branded “My Best Life”.
