The brief

In order for DfT to meet our legal requirements under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, we are required to conduct workstation assessments for each desk/user, and provide adjustments as required to individual users.

For some users, this includes the provision of specialised software/technology.

These assessments have historically been paid for by GPC.

However, this is not permitted under DfT buying rules, given the large amount of spend involved (c. £60,000/year).

As such, we are looking to put a contract in place.

We plan to go out to market for this requirement.

However, due to our legal obligation to provide these assessments and adjustments, we need to put in a short term contract to cover period of the tender process.

This could be done with our existing supplier, The Speech Centre.

Our needs include: Livescribe equipment, Dictation software and headset, any associated training
