The brief

The Trust currently has a 15-year-old fleet of Negative Wound Pressure machines which require replacements.

The Trust is seeking a supplier to provide a rental contract for 12 months with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

NHS Supply Chain would be the preferred route to market but the Trust would be willing to review this option if significant savings and benefits can be obtained from a different purchasing route.

The Trust needs to make savings so price will play a big factor in decision, along with quality and the after-sales service.

Evaluations of the bids received will be undertaken with a shortlisting of suppliers invited to give presentations to key clinical and non-clinical staff.

Suppliers may be required to arrange clinical trials to assess their suitability against requirements.
