Administration of Disclosure and Barring Services Checks
The DVSA acts as the regulator for Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) and is seeking to appoint a contractor registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for the administration of disclosures of potential driving instructors (PDIs), existing ADIs and potential driving examiners (DEs) in England, Scotland and Wales.
The contract will provide DVSA with: 1. the administration of on-line and paper-based applications for disclosure and barring service checks for PDIs, ADIs and DEs 2. advice to DVSA on DBS policies and procedures, as well as the interpretation of the information contained within disclosures as requested.
The contract will be for two years with a potential extension of a further year.
DVSA expects to award the contract by 1 March 2017.
Estimated value is between £200,000 - £265,000, excluding DBS fee.
Indicative volumes are 16,500 enhanced DBS checks a year.
