The brief

To enable the Trust to comply with its statutory water safety duties with regard to cold water storage tanks, it is required to routinely inspect and maintain its systems [including cleaning and disinfection as required].

With regard to shower units present within the Trust, cleaning and descaling is required on a regular basis to minimise risks associated with contamination.

Lastly, to ensure vulnerable people are protected from burns and scalds from water systems the Trust have installed temperature control thermostatic mixing valves (From here on referred to as ?TMV?s?), in key critical locations.

These TMV?s are required to have in place testing and maintenance procedures at defined frequencies.

Sentinel Outlets, Calorifiers, Pleat Heat Exchangers (from here on referred to as PHE), Water Tanks and Subordinate Loops are required to have monthly temperature checks, lastly Representative Outlets are to have Annual temperature monitoring.

All of the above must have detailed record keeping and any non-conformities being highlighted and dealt with.
