Marine Noise Registry - Outputs
2.
Project Aims This project aims to develop a manually invoked mechanism (e.g script) to create a 'pulse-block-day' map, on an annual basis, from data stored within the Marine Noise Registry (mnr.jncc.gov.uk) (MNR).
The map will show where and when impulsive noise events have occurred within the UK seas using the unit 'pulse-block-days', whereby the spatial component is a UK oil and gas licensing block.
Maps will present data between a chosen start date and end date for example a calendar year.
The map will be made available from www.data.gov.uk by Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC).
Two data tables are also required, the first containing data underpinning the pulse-block-day map and the second containing raw data.
These data tables will be kept by JNCC and available to public on request.
Another aim of this project is to develop a method by which data is extracted from the MNR in the format required by the ICES Noise Registry.
