Towns Fund - what works for culture? - AWARD
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits below the typical range for Recreation, Culture & Sport contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 3,522 valued Recreation, Culture & Sport tenders in our corpus.
The DCMS cultural agencies wish jointly to commission research into the reasons why culture (in its broad sense) was or was not included in bids made by the 100 towns eligible for public investment through the Towns Fund and what lessons can be learned from the application process.
Of the 100 bids, only a proportion included cultural projects, with sport perhaps being least well represented.
By looking into the decision-making process of a sample of bids and talking to those involved, the cultural agencies hope to gain insight into what worked, for whom and why.
