The brief

Job Title: Solicitor - Adults Safeguarding Rate of Pay: ?24.08ph Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3ES.

Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role.

Brief description: We are looking for a Solicitor within Adults Safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' experience specialising in and handling Adults matters preferably from a local authority perspective.

The successful candidate must be confident and experienced in order to be able to hit the ground running and have the ability to carry a varied case load covering all aspects of Adult Social Care matters.

The candidate will need to be proactive, work well under pressure, self-reliant as well as work as part of a wider team.

We are looking for someone: - Who is a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister authorised to Practise, with a certificate free of conditions. - With a minimum of 3 years' experience of practical legal work, of which 2 years must have been gained in the relevant specialism. - Who is able to absorb and understand detail quickly around complex legislation and reports. - With general knowledge of Local Government law and an understanding of the current role of a Local Authority Legal Services Division.

The successful candidate would gain great exposure to a varied caseload and would enjoy a high level of responsibility with a great deal of client contact.
