ITT for Severe Intestinal Failure Services - Integrated Centres
This is a large award for Health & Social Care — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 32,734 valued Health & Social Care tenders in our corpus.
NHS England is commissioning Severe Intestinal Failure(SIF) Services through a programme of work that will be commissioned in two phases.
This procurement is for Phase one (1) only.
Phase 1 is to commission up to 12 Integrated Centres (IC) (contracts of 4 years + up to 6 months) treating patients with SIF Type 2 and 3 across England.
This will commission the ICs for the catchment areas that they will serve for patients requiring SIF management, related hospital care and the local Home Parenteral Nutrition service.
Phase 1 will also commission 2 national reference centres (contracts of 3 years).
Phase 2 will be to commission HPN Centres only in the areas not covered or awarded in Phase 1.
This Notice and ITT are relating to Phase 1 of this project.
Phase 1 is split into 20 lots.
Lots 1 - 18 are for integrated centres in defined areas across England.
Lots 19 - 20 are for 2 national reference centres (Lot 19 - North England; Lot 20 - London & South England).
The total added contract value across all Lots is £3587000 as a result of this procurement.
Existing NHS Contracts with successful providers already includes baseline funding for intestinal failure services.
Additional funding has been allocated to reflect the incremental changes required to meet the new service specification.
The total additional funding is £3587000.
The distribution of funding across the new provider landscape is based on £100,000 for each Severe intestinal Failure Centre plus an amount on the amount of population to be covered. £150,000 for each National Reference Centre, to reflect the additional requirements of the NRC.
