The Department of Health and Social Care are looking to appoint a supplier to facilitate the delivery of end-to-end blood sampling service through the digital NHS Health Check platform during the private Beta testing phase of the new digital NHS Health Check.
This service will measure cholesterol and, where required, HbA1c via a self-sampling capillary blood test to enable eligible people to self-complete a digital NHS Health Check at home.
Integration with the NHS Health Check will be an essential aspect of the service.
Contract Project Reference: C296916 Title: DHSC: NHS Health Check Self-Sampling Cholesterol and HbA1c Testing Services Contract term: From contract signature to 31/03/2024 with the option to extend for a period or periods of up to further 8 months Estimated contract value (including extensions): £184,000 + £150,000 optional extension = £334,000 excluding VAT (£191,000 + £150,000 = £341,000 including VAT - kits are exempt from VAT) This Tender process will be issued by in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 as amended by the Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 ("the Regulations) Schedule 3 ("Light Touch") services.
This Procurement Exercise will therefore be run in accordance with 'the Regulations' as they apply to "light touch" services.
While the Authority is following a process broadly corresponding to an Open Procedure under 'the Regulations' neither that fact nor any other statements, acts or omissions of the Authority in connection with this Procurement Exercise should be taken as indicating that the Authority intends to be bound by the provisions of the 'Regulations' or the general principles to any greater extent than applies by law to the Light Touch Regime.
