Department of Health & NHS Business Services Authority - Future Operating Model for NHS Logistics Procurement, 'Home Delivery Services' - Additional Lot
The Department of Health (DH) and the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) have decided to procure the Home Delivery Services as a separate lot within the scope of the Future Operating Model for NHS procurement, supply chain and logistics services. 'Home Delivery Services' is the logistics services for the delivery of continence products and potentially other products on behalf of the NHS Business Services Authority; to the residential homes, care homes and domestic premises.
There are currently quarter of a million of users of the service in England.
DH is to hold a Market Engagement Day at Quarry House, Leeds on Monday, 27th March 2017.
The early engagement is to ascertain interest in the market for a potential 3 year term contract with two one year extension options.
The prospective contract would be with a single provider.
The estimated value of the contract will be £40m over 5 years The Market Engagement day will be in the form of presentations by DH explaining the FOM, HDS logistics operation, procurement process and proposed contract.
It will also provide an opportunity for attendees to feedback to the DH both on the day and through follow up one-to-one engagement.

For clarity, the original notice for an additional Lot to the FOM Logistics procurement which covered Healthy Start Vitamins Services has now been withdrawn from Contracts Finder.
This service will now be released as a separate procurement rather than an additional Lot to FOM Logistics.
Any future market engagement for this service will be managed as a stand alone activity.
