The brief

Birmingham City Council's (BCC) in partnership with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking quotations from organisations to complete a techno-economic feasibility study on the heat network opportunities for Icknield Port Loop (Port Loop) and the Greater Icknield area.

This feasibility study shall undertake a technical and economic appraisal of the potential heat, cooling and associated power network options for Port Loop and the Greater Icknield area (including adjoining Sandwell development areas), making the appropriate technical, financial and sustainability case alongside presenting other relevant information to help progress to a heat network business case.

The feasibility scope of service shall be delivered in two key Stages.

A review breakpoint will occur after Stage 1 of the study, and Stage 2 will continue on confirmation by the Client.

The consultant must ensure that all the criteria as listed in the quotation document ensuring compliance with the ADE/CIBSE Heat Network code of practice requirements.

BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
