The brief

Turner Sims Southampton is a nationally renowned concert hall and live music producing organisation, which is a department of the University of Southampton and one of Arts Council England's National Portfolio Organisations.

The contract is to appoint a specialist contractor to design, supply, wire, commission and set to work a new stage lighting installation with a new lighting desk.

The system must use energy efficient lighting and enable significant savings on energy costs in comparison to the current system.

The system should allow users more versatility in lighting design whilst also providing intuitive control with a clean and simple interface.

The lighting should provide even coverage of the stage area (particularly when lighting orchestra ensembles), whilst also incorporating greater flexibility into the lighting rig - allowing atmospheric key lighting of individual performers and dramatic narrative lighting where desired to better facilitate the diverse range of performances and activities.
