The brief

Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England Midlands and East (Central Midlands) would like to inform Providers of the potential procurement for an Alternative Provider of Medical Services (APMS) contract for: Spring House Medical Centre, Ascots Lane, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4HL.

The actual patient list size at Spring House Medical Centre was 8839 (1st July 2017).

The Services must be GP Led and provided by GPs, nurses and other clinical professionals, the successful Provider will be expected to: • Provide primary care medical services which will be accessible, convenient and responsive • Deliver all services throughout the hours that will be outlined in the specification • Design services around the needs of patients and carers, ensuring they are offered more choice and a greater say in their treatment • Have processes in place to evaluate and continually improve on patient satisfaction • Have processes in place to engage effectively with the local communities • Participate in National Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) • Be eligible for and expected to provide all Enhanced Services, remunerated in line with the relevant Directions as specified by the commissioner on an annual basis. • Promotion of healthy living with the aim of tackling the underlying causes of ill health.
