NHS Shared Business Services, on behalf of NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group (the CCG), is seeking information from Providers on the potential interest and capability of the market to deliver a Dermatology Service to the population of Croydon.
The service model and commissioning intentions as currently developed include for the Provider of the future Dermatology service to: 1.
Deliver an integrated approach using any setting, namely Primary Care, Enhanced Primary Care or Secondary Care Clinics through a balanced approach to aid training and development.
Ensuring Providers work together with a particular focus on improving self-care and learning and development within primary care.

The role of the enhanced primary team will be to provide an alternative treatment option including (minor operations) to patient as an alternative to being referred to secondary care.
Referrals will be received directly from secondary care dermatology consultants following triage/review.

Within the new model enhanced primary care teams will have a significant focus on training and development within primary care settings.

Improve, support, manage and coordinate Dermatology need and conditions delivered primarily in primary care but with access to expertise in secondary care for advice, collaboration and onward referral when required.

Work closely alongside GPs to encourage and enable GPs to provide support and self-help/management of the patients' Dermatology conditions without the need for onward referral.
The locally developed vision includes the upskilling of primary care staff through learning and development to enhance the skillset of GPs to manage Dermatology conditions and strengthen adherence to agreed care pathways between primary and secondary care.
Croydon CCG is also developing its vision for a number of other planned care services, namely anti-coagulation, diabetes, ENT, gynaecology and MSK, in addition to Dermatology.
These services are currently being re-designed, and market engagement and / or procurement may follow later in 2018.

The CCG will be holding a Market Engagement event in relation to this service on the evening of 17th May 2018.
Further details will be shared upon receipt of a completed MEQ.
The CCG anticipates awarding a 3 year contract for the delivery of these services with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years at its sole discretion.
An Invitation to Tender will be published by the end of May 2018 working towards full service commencement 1st October 2018.
