The brief

Market Engagement - This is not a procurement exercise: The Integrated Community Equipment service (ICE) is a service that delivers equipment to residents in Warwickshire.

The service is jointly commissioned by Warwickshire County Council (WCC) and the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).

From the Council's perspective, the service is for meeting care and support needs for both vulnerable adults and children encouraging and enabling residents to remain independent in their own homes.

From the CCG's perspective to meet a range of health needs, including timely discharge from hospital.

During 2019/20 financial year, just over 20000 individuals were served with equipment.

In total 101,840 pieces of equipment were delivered.

45% of all deliveries were made either on the same day or next day.

The annual spend on this contract is in excess of £5,000,000.00.

The existing contract is in place until 31st August 2022.

As part of the tender activity, the Council is carrying out market engagement and we are seeking to explore innovative ways of delivering the community support services.
