The brief

The aim of the proposed service is to deliver quality, fixed cost radiology capacity to meet the growing requirement of referrers within both the acute and community setting.The focus of the service will be to reduce waiting times for radiology examinations (Ultrasound, X-Ray, CT and MRI) and reduce reporting times for all examinations.

This increased collaborative capacity for diagnostic imaging will support the trust in delivery of national waiting targets and improved access to services 7 days a week across acute and community settings.

3.1 To reduce diagnostic waiting times to minimal operational requirement (less than 1 week)3.2 To reduce radiology reporting times to a minimal operational requirement (within 48hrs OP)3.3 To provide flexible, fixed cost additional capacity to meet rapidly increasing demand.

3.4 To innovate and develop community based diagnostics collaboratively in line with commissioning intentions.

3.5 To support Radiology in the delivery of 7 Day services for patients.
